Horst Opaschowski has been called “Mr. Future” by German media. From 1979 to 2010 he led the Foundation for Future Studies, an independent initiative set up by British American Tobacco. Since 2011, he has been working as a researcher, publicist and advisor for both public and private stakeholders.
The Vice President of the EPP, born 1951, graduated from ESCP Europe and is a member of the UMP. He was minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, Foreign and European Affairs and Environment. 2009 Barnier was elected into the European Parliament. Currently he is the European Comissioner for Internal Market and Service.
